« Last post by IronHide on January 07, 2018, 08:29:05 am »
What you can post here:

Any complaint against an administrator.

Rules:

1. Complaint must have a base argument and a supporting fact, in case of inability to obtain supporting facts, you must have a strong base argument.
2. Topic title has to be: " Complaint - [UAC]<staff name>
3. In case it is about a punishment you cannot make an administrative complaint before appealing it on the right board.
4. You can only make an administrative complaint for serious abuse.
5. You must provide your account name and serial ( Launch MTA > Press F8 > Type "serial" > Copy & paste it here)
6. You must provide VALID proof/evidence in your complaint against the admin, else you'll have nothing to backup your argument, and your complaint should be deemed invalid.
7. You can only post here if you are involved, otherwise you will be warned.
8. In case it is about a ban you cannot make an administrative before appealing it, if it was denied then make a 2nd opinion appeal, remember you must wait the original intended time gap before making your 2nd opinion appeal.
9. Don't use abusive language otherwise your complaint will be deemed invalid and you will be punished.
10.You can complain a staff member ONLY once for the same thing.

If you don't bother to read and follow these rules then we are not even going to read your complaint hence it will be directly locked.

Staff code of conduct

A) Don't jump to conclusions, gather sufficient evidence first.
B) If you have a problem, raise it with whoever it may concern.
C) Set a good example and don't act stupid.
D) Only use your powers for what they're intended for, unless you're being creative in the interests of the community.
E) If you join a group, squad, etc you mustn't get involved in any appeals or complaints of other members.
F) When warning somebody for a post on the forum, either delete the post or post afterwards saying they've been warned.
G) Ban reasons must be detailed and reflect the actual ban reason.
H) Comply with any reasonable instruction given by a higher level member of staff.
I) Anything which is private must remain private unless stated.
J) Treat everyone fairly and how you'd expect to be treated yourself, everyone in the community should be treated equally regardless of their position or what they mean to you. Rules are to be enforced equally across the board. Cherry picking people who they punish and any sort of bias is strictly forbidden.
K) You must not be dishonest.
L) Staff are required to maintain professional conduct while handling their duties such as, punishing players or moderating any official boards. Staff are not to let their personal feelings or beliefs cause them to treat people differently. They must remain objective at all times.

Request a board for a language
_________________________________________________________________________

Requirements:

- Needs to be a language with a decent amount of players speaking it in the community, and the players has to be active on the forums.
- The one requesting the board needs to be known in the community. (Junior Community Member+ and active on multiply boards on the forums)

Format to request a board for a language:

Code: [Select]
The language you want a board for:
The people you would like to have as moderators:
Estimation of amount of people from your country that are active on the forum:
Example of players from your country who's active on the forums (forum links):
Can it be a childboard of another board, if yes which?:

It may take some time for your request to be processed. DO NOT APPLY TWICE OR YOUR REQUEST WILL BE DENIED.

If your request gets approved a board will be created for the language and I will closely watch how active the board is during at least a month. If the board is not being used much during that time I will delete the board without having to notify the board moderators about it.

If your request has been denied don't bother re-applying again for a long time.

If your board is not being used it may be deleted, having language boards which barely are being posted in is pointless.
________________________________________________________________________

Moderator/description changes

When requesting moderators, don't put their ingame name but their FULL name on the forums.
If you put their ingame name and I add someone named 'Casual' when their name on the forums is actually 'Cãsüål' or something else stupid it's your fault for requesting it and not putting their forum name in the hyperlinked text.

Moderators changes must be requested by one of existent board moderators (you cannot request yourself to be a moderator). Not following this rule will lead to a warning for breaking rule 1 and request deleted.
It's your responsibility as a moderator to only add new moderators which you trust, if they start deleting topics in your board that's entirely your fault.

Warning:
When requesting removal of current moderator(s) you must list an honest reason for each person you want removed, failure to do so means they will not be removed. Name of childboards are things like, "ban appeals, complaints" and so on that you might have in your language board.

Code: [Select]
Name of board:
Name of child board(s), if any:
Link to board:
Are you a moderator of board?:
The people you would like to remove from moderators:
The people you would like to have as moderators:
Explain in detail why you're requesting these changes:

Ideas and Suggestions / READ HERE !
« Last post by IronHide on January 06, 2018, 09:34:42 am »
This board is for suggestions about anything and everything. In-game ideas, forum, new services, everything.

Only reply to a suggestion if you have something that will bring value to it. Saying +1 -1 with your opinion is a useless post which is against rule 4.

1. Only post a suggestion if you're going to explain in detail. Imagine you're explaining your idea to someone who knows very little about the game.

2. If you want an old feature back you must still EXPLAIN IT as if it was a new feature.

3. The subject / title of the topic must actually describe your feature such as "Payment changes to blah" not "About blah".

4. Map changes

5. Changing or adding a cash / resource payment requires statistical evidence. EG: If you think mission X is under paid then you must prove that by doing mission Y and Z to show that in the same time playing you earned different amounts for different missions.

6. Optional format for suggestions must be used:

Code: [Select]
Suggestion explained in one paragraph:

Additional details that are necessary for the suggestion:

This suggestion is worth the time developing because:

7. Explain your suggestion in 1 paragraph at the start. Examples of bad explanations that had to be denied:

"Adding Achievement for reaching lvl 50 for cops and criminals"
"A medicine to cure the virus."
"being able to know who own turfs in F11 while playing the game like This."
"Decreasing the payment of the streetraces if you race alone."
"Can't Pickpocket sameone in veh"

8. STOP EDITING YOUR SUGGESTION LONG AFTER POSTING IT. For all we know you suggested something completely different to what you've now got in your suggestion and you might have edited it after getting many up votes so if the suggestion was edited over 1 hour after being posted we have no choice but to deny it, you can re-suggest it then.

9. If you want something that already exists changing, explain how it already works. For example if you want a command moving to a button SAY WHAT THE COMMAND IS. If I don't know what the command is called then I have to manually search for the script and I won't waste my time because you didn't bother to add a little but very important detail.

Ideas and Suggestions / [READ ME] Community Development Procedures
« Last post by IronHide on January 06, 2018, 09:33:21 am »
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME MAKING NEW FEATURES. THE SERVER IS ALREADY LAGGY ENOUGH AS IT IS.

Purpose

The purpose of this board is to allow the community to make development contributions, as some people have tried to send me scripts and I have allowed previous experiences to cloud my judgement causing me to get angry and refuse to co-operate with them, even though these people actually spent considerable time I didn't appreciate their effort and for that I am sorry and to make up for it I have developed this new system which will allow me to add peoples work without getting so stressed and consuming lots of time.

The Procedure

1. Look at some scripts and complete a basic script on your local server then ask yourself 2 questions: "Can I handle this?" and "Can I be bothered seeing this to completion?" If the answer to both questions is yes then proceed.

2. OPTIONAL: Post a suggestion in 'Ideas and Suggestions' state that you want to work on the idea and see what interest it gets.

3. Begin work on your script. Learn from this board using the sticky topics that contain information and CIP specifics and from other peoples work. Ask questions if you're stuck (it's much quicker than spending 10x longer trying to figure it out yourself) also the MTA forum has a board dedicated to scripting questions and scripting tutorials which should help you.

4. Test the hell out of your script. Don't use it how you intend, use it like you're intentionally trying to break it. Think like an exploiter. Good example is when your script expects a number what if someone submits a negative number or a number with a decimal? Your script needs to handle all sorts of stupid stuff.

5. Quality over quantity. If there's anything your script might need it's much easier to add it at the beginning, especially GUI changes like adding a search box, once your script has been added I might not allow changes so you should make sure it's damn good before submitting it's so good you should have no doubts, you should be proud of it. It's better to make 1 script that's awesome and players will respect you for making it, than 3 "meh" scripts that nobody uses. I've been scripting for so many years I can't even remember, so trust me.

6. Submission time. You will be posting your hard work in a topic that any JCM+ can view. Letting everyone see your hard work which could possibly get stolen and used on another server is a necessary sacrifice because without this step the script would never get on the server. Other players who understand scripting should look through your script (hopefully they would test it too) and they will point out any flaws they spot. Hopefully you won't have any but if they don't spot any flaws I will be suspicious that nobody actually checked properly. This step saves me a most time so it's essential. A community developer (me if there isn't one yet) will have to approve your script which means they've checked it to verify that it is to the best of their knowledge, flawless.

7. The temperature rises. I check the script myself. Probably the most experienced MTA scripter is now checking your script so if there's any bugs, debugs, inefficiencies or exploits they'll be spotted and if I spot any I'll either be pissed that nobody already spotted it or I will update a topic that lists all the things to do when scripting as I know many things that nobody else does especially when it comes to making efficient scripts.

8. It's game time. I add the script and briefly test it myself on the private development server. I then set it running on the main server and if it's good then good things are coming your way. If everything is still going well after a day then it gets added to the start list (resources that start when the server starts) and your work is now officially part of the server.

Topic Tags

To help keep the board organized please tag (put [TAG NAME] at the beginning) of your topic titles:

[SUBMISSION] - When you are submitting a script and the community needs to check it.
[APPROVED] - Only set it to this once a script has been submit and approved.
[COMPLETED] - When a script has been officially added to the server.
[ADVICE] - When you need scripting advice and put a specific (not just "help please") topic title too.
[REQUEST] - Request an export / event / etc for existing scripts.

Topic format

You need to use this format when making [SUBMISSION], your submission won't be reviewed until you add a format to it. It is needed so developers can get to the right point directly.
Code: [Select]

Screenshots:
